Mission Statement – Uplift Pine River Area Kids was created to help feed children living in rural poverty and who are food deprived. Uplift will provide a bag of food to help supplement their weekend meals and snacks.
Project Description – Out of a K-12 school population of 1,037 students, 44-47% live in poverty. 563 students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at school. Many more could qualify. Uplift provides each participant a bag of simple-to-prepare, nonperishable food for weekend meals (when the students are not in school receiving supplemental meals). We plan to start this ministry at the start of the fall 2017 school year.
