Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is the Evangelical Covenant Church Donation Portal?
The Evangelical Covenant Church Donation Portal was developed as an easy way for church members to electronically donate or sign up for events and services offered by their specific Covenant Church.  We make good stewardship easy.

Why should I use this Giving Portal?
Convenience! No more writing checks or getting behind on your commitment. The Evangelical Covenant Church Donation Portal deducts your gift from your account automatically.

Is my giving secure?
The electronic signup is done using 128-bit encryption for the highest level of security.  Credit Card and eCheck information is encrypted to the latest PCI security standards.

What are on-line Giving transaction costs?
Here is an outline of the transaction costs associated with the various forms of online payment. These fees are taken out of the amount given to the church:

If you make a gift and pay with…
 - An online check (ACH), then the cost is $.45 + 0.00%
 - VISA/MC/Discover credit/debit cards, then the cost is $.35 + 1.5%

Is it possible to divide my giving into categories?
Yes. One debit will be posted to your account and the giving breakout information will be sent by Covenant Giving to the receiving church. This breakout information is entered by the giver upon adding the donation to the “Giving Cart”.

What kind of pay methods does the Evangelical Covenant Church Donation Portal offer?
Visa, MasterCard, Discover and eCheck.

What kind of checking accounts can be used for the eCheck option?
United States Checking, NOW, SuperNOW, and some brokerage accounts are eligible.

Is giving by eCheck safe?
Yes. The Automated Clearing House network (the method in which eCheck deducts money from your account) is a nationwide electronic payments system used by more than 20,000 financial institutions, 4 million corporations, and 135 million consumers. ACH is used for direct deposit, bill payment, home banking, point of sale, point of purchase, cash concentration and disbursement, corporate trade payments, check truncation, and now Covenant Church.  The Automated Clearing House (ACH) processed more than 18 billion automated clearing house payments valued at $37 trillion during 2007 according to NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association. As a result of this network, the Evangelical Covenant Church Donation Portal guarantees an accurate electronic debit from your account.
